Some stories stay with you

Two friends, two meltdowns

Friend 1

First to lose it

Opens the film an inch from the lens with a silent scream, palms thrown at the camera and a fake sob. Stands on the left in the duo dance.

Friend 2

Second to lose it

Starts out dancing in the back, then takes the close-up with a wide-eyed silent roar. Stands on the right in the duo dance.

The story in your video

Six hand-held shots with hard cuts, filmed the way a friend would film it on a phone held too close. The joke is the contrast: total despair in the foreground, a carefree dance in the background.

  1. Scene 1Friend 1 fills the frame, clutching their head in a silent scream, throws both palms at the lens as if begging it to stay, then pretends to cry into cupped hands. Behind them, Friend 2 crosses both arms and side-steps happily, not even looking.
  2. Scene 2Hard cut. Now Friend 2 is in the close-up, head down, fingers in the hair, then up with a wide-eyed silent roar and both hands sliding down the cheeks. Friend 1 has forgotten all about the sadness and is dancing in the back, sneaking a look and trying not to laugh.
  3. Scene 3The two of you dance side by side in front of the fence, seen from above, from the ground against the sky and straight on. On the last beat you both lunge at the lens with your hands out, and the film ends.

Photos that work best

  • One adult per photo, with the face clearly visible and well lit.
  • JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB each, at least 512 pixels on the short side.
  • Front or three-quarter view works best. Avoid sunglasses, masks and heavy filters.
  • Use photos of yourself, or of adults who have agreed to appear in the video.
  • A background photo is optional. It should show a place with nobody in it, such as a wall, a fence, a street or a yard.

What is the Smalltown Boy AI video?

The Smalltown Boy AI video is a two-person clip built on one simple joke. One friend stands right in front of the phone and acts out the end of the world: hands in the hair, mouth wide open, palms reaching for the lens. A few steps behind, the other friend dances without a care. Then the roles flip, and the one who was dancing gets a meltdown of their own.

FacesToClips makes that video from two photos. You do not write a prompt, learn the choreography or find a wall to film against. You add one photo for each friend, decide who loses it first, and we create a 21-second vertical film in six shots with both of you in it.

Every shot is already directed: where the phone is held, how close the face comes, when the cut lands and what the friend in the back is doing. The acting is exaggerated on purpose, so expect wide eyes, big hands and a fake sob. Your faces and hair come from your photos; the film dresses you in its own plain outfits, one in a red jacket and one in a dark green shirt, with no logos or lettering.

The setting is yours to choose. Leave it alone and the film is shot in front of the dark red board fence with ivy from the sample. Add a background photo of your own, such as your street, your garden wall or the back of your school, and the two of you dance there instead.

Smalltown Boy AI Video Generator: questions and answers

What do I get?
One 21-second Smalltown Boy AI video: a vertical 9:16 MP4 in six hand-held shots, ready for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, with you and a friend as the cast. It comes without sound, so you add the sound when you post it.
What is the Smalltown Boy AI video trend?
It is the two-person dance challenge where one friend acts out a dramatic meltdown right in front of the phone while the other dances happily behind, and then they swap. This Smalltown Boy AI video generator makes that film from two photos, with no filming and no rehearsing.
Do I need a Smalltown Boy AI prompt?
No. The whole film is already written and directed, shot by shot, so there is no prompt to find, copy or tune. Add two photos and the video is made for you.
Do I need an account?
No. You pay for a single video with just an email address, and your orders stay one click away on the Orders page.
Can I choose who goes first?
Yes. Friend 1 takes the first close-up and stands on the left in the duo dance; Friend 2 takes the second close-up and stands on the right. Put each photo in the place you want, and swap the two with one click before you pay. After payment the roles are fixed for that order.
Can I use my own background?
Yes. Under the two photos you can add one background photo, and the film is set there. Choose a real photo of a place with nobody in it, such as a wall, a fence, a street or a yard. Photos with people in them are not accepted. If you add nothing, the film uses the red fence you see in the sample.
Who can be in the photos?
You, and adults who have agreed to appear in the video. Each photo should show one adult with the face clearly visible. Photos of children, of pets and of people who have not agreed are not accepted.
What will we be wearing?
The outfits of the film. Friend 1 wears a red jacket over a white top with light trousers, and Friend 2 wears a dark green shirt with dark trousers, with no logos or lettering. Your faces and hair come from your photos.
Can I get a widescreen version?
This film is vertical only. It is shot like a phone video, so 9:16 is the format that suits it and the one TikTok, Reels and Shorts show full screen.
Is there music in the video?
No. The video is delivered without sound. When you post on TikTok or Instagram Reels, search for “Smalltown Boy Bronski Beat” in the sounds library and add it from the start (0:00); the moves are timed to it. You can also add any track you like. TikTok business accounts can only use the commercial music library, so the sound may not be offered there.
How long does it take?
Your video is created in the background after payment. You can close the page; we email you a private link when it is ready, and the order page shows live progress.
Will it look exactly like us?
The video is generated by AI from your photos, so results vary and small differences are normal. The faces are pulled into big, exaggerated expressions, which is the point of the trend. Clear, well-lit, front-facing photos give the most recognizable result.
Is this a face swap of an existing video?
No. Every video is newly generated from your photos. The people, the outfits and the setting are created for your film, and no original footage is reused.
How do I pay?
On our payment partner’s secure checkout page, one video at a time. There is no subscription.
What if my video cannot be made?
If a video cannot be made, your payment stays safe and we make it again at no extra cost. You can also ask for a refund from your order page, and we review every request ourselves.
What happens to my photos?
Photos and videos are private. Uploaded photos, including a background photo, are deleted within 24 hours after your order is finished, and your video stays downloadable for 30 days.
